In the factious world of smartphones developed by Chinese manufacturers, a new member is set to join on October 8th, i.e., the coming Thursday. This new member is from the Gionee group, and the device is named Elife E8.
The manufacturer has started rolling out invitations for the press event, which is to be held in New Delhi. The smartphone has been already released in an earlier event held in the month of June, in Beijing.
Gionee Elife E8 India Launch
So, this is the Gionee’s official announcement of the device’s availability for the Indian consumers.
On the specifications front, the device is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop OS at the top, and MediaTek MTK6795 chipset (octa-core 2.0GHz) CPU at the base. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the rear.
23.7MP camera is placed on the rear, along with LED flash, and a software gimmick which enables the lens to capture 120 megapixels (resolution) photograph. The camera optics is adjusted well, which helps the device to offer a loss-less zoom, up to 3x.
At the front, 8MP camera is sitting with its Magic Focus feature, that can automatically find faces, which are a must for selfies. 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage are also on board.
The device also offers Dual SIM support, which is the must for Indian consumers, along with 4G LTE, NFC, dual speakers, HiFi Sound, and a 3,520mAh battery.
Now, if you’re thinking of this device as a comfortable one to hold and use, then this idea will drop after knowing the exact size of the display at the front. It measures 6.0inch diagonally. The technical parts of the display are a Super AMOLED panel with WQHD resolution.
The design standards are again common, but the Gold color option is really making a huge difference in the overall looks. Globally, the device is priced about $645, and we’ve to wait for the coming Thursday to know the Indian pricing details.
Gionee is already a grown up brand in the very competitive Indian market, and personally I think that this device will definitely receive a huge applause. Let’s see what happens when it’s made available at the retailers.
